One of the biggest lessons I shared at a recent panel event is if your business only works when you’re over functioning, it’s not working.
There’s a difference between having a full season and building a business model that requires you to always run ragged. When “busy” becomes the norm instead of the exception, it doesn’t just drain you. It reshapes how your entire business operates.
Your team feels it.
Your customers notice it.
And over time, the cracks start to show.
Here’s what I want you to keep in mind:
You’re not failing if you feel maxed out.
It’s a signal that your business is trying to expand or that it’s ready for the next level of growth. The only real detriment is ignoring it or trying to outwork it by clinging to business practices that no longer fit.
Leadership isn’t about carrying more. It’s about protecting the work only you can do — and building the right support around you to carry the rest.
This is where outsourcing becomes a bridge of support — reconnecting you to the business you’re building, not just the busyness you’re trying to survive.
Outsourcing expands your possibilities, shares the responsibility, brings in fresh perspective, and deepens the experience your business can offer without demanding more of you than you can sustainably give. It’s not about stepping away. It’s about stepping into your highest role with stronger support around you.
If this is resonating with you, I’d love to share the full recording of my talk — plus a simple worksheet to help you reflect on your time, spot new opportunities, and start leading with more clarity (and a lot less chaos).
